After much discussion the Trustees decided that in view of the effect of Covid 19 we would cancel this year’s Annual Meeting.

We are not sure what the advice on travel and staying overnight will be by the start of October.

Even if the UK government advice is that we can travel and stay overnight we were not sure how many people would be willing to travel in view of the continuing Covid 19 pandemic.

The Trustees and officers who would have either resigned or stood for re-election have agreed to stay in post for the coming year.

The accounts will be completed and checked and will be circulated to the membership by email or post with a newsletter as usual

I want to assure members that this decision was not taken lightly as we know how important the annual meeting is to many members.  It is not only an occasion when the formal requirements of a charity are completed, but is also a day to meet friends old and new and to enjoy a day at Pax Lodge.

The day is also an occasion when we raise extra funds for the charity through the raffle; bring and buy, sales of our merchandise and other stalls.

This is such an unusual year that we felt that we had no option but to make this decision.  We look forward to seeing members and friends in 2021.
