Having had to cancel the 2023 trip to Waddow, the Friends are now looking at a trip there next year. The dates have not been confirmed but are looking to be end of April/early May. If you are interested in this trip please let us know as the more enquiries we get the more plans we can make and give an indication of cost, activities and price.
The borders have opened and there is a trip to New Zealand in February 2024 being planned. The initial estimated cost is approx £3,200 + flights at the current exchange rate of 0.52 can be advised but a 2-3 week trip, flying into Wellington and coming home via Auckland for members & families and full board is on offer. Places on this trip will be capped so if interested please make contact soon.
Come to the Friends AGM Information was sent out in the autumn newsletter. Activity sessions including crafts, badge swapping, quizzes and the AGM on the Saturday afternoon, with a zoom link)and time to catch up with friends old and new. We are also hoping to extend this into offering various options for the weekend. The flyer is on the website under 'newsletter and flyers'
Join us for the Friends autumn quiz - friends and family invited. You just need a paper, pen or pencil and a drink and nibbles to keep you going. 1st zoom login will give you rounds of questions (lasting approx 35 minutes) then log back in to hear the answers. The login code will be sent out to all Friends of the WAGGGS World Centres members who receive newsletters and mailings via email.
The trip to Our Chalet for the International Friendship week in 29 September – 7 October 2022 is now full and there are no places left to go with the Friends group. Contact Our Chalet direct if looking to attend an event or visit.
Dates announced for the 2022 holiday to Hautbois. Possible opportunities for days out could include: Holkham Hall, Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse Outdoor Museum, Bure Valley Railway, Blickling Hall and Lagham Glass. Email the Friends address if you are interested in this trip and more information will be sent to you.
Join other members of the Friends Group for the virtual AGM,. 4pm (GMT) Start for Business matters - including an update on membership, donations, year ending 2021 accounts and future events for the Friends Group. This will be followed by a talk from Dhamayanthy, who will telling us about the celebrations in the USA for their 110th Anniversary celebrations and her own personal experiences in the Countries she has been involved in Guiding.
PLEASE NOTE THE NEW START TIME OF 4.00pm for UK and International Guiding Friends to be able to join in. Email to be part of this event and receive the meeting login details. Following the success of the Webinar held for Thinking Day 2021, the Friends AGM will be held as a webinar, via zoom in October 2021.
You can join as an individual, joint or a Trefoil Guild and membership is for a year. We send out 4 newsletters and hold on-line quizzes Trips depend on volunteers to organise but we try to run one UK trip a year. Our AGM is held in the spring, which is usually at Pax Lodge.

You can now donate to the Friends of the WAGGGS World Centres when you purchase on-line from Amazon. If you purchase something for £10 we would get 5p and while that might not seem a lot, all these small amounts will quickly add up.
