Report of the Annual Meeting 2019

Members arrived from 10am onwards

The Theme of this year’s Annual Meeting was Pax Lodge,  in the morning there were a variety of quizzes and photo questions about London, which members enjoyed doing.  Coffee and tea were available in the dining room and biscuits were available in the dining room to keep strength up to complete the quizzes.  There was a tombola, with prizes wrapped in red, white or blue, a raffle, our merchandise stall, including new items - the Pax Lodge badge and the Christmas Cards.

Videos were shown of the trip to Our Cabana in February by a group from the Friends of the WAGGGS World Centres, and a video that we had been sent from Sangam.

We enjoyed a wonderful UK themed lunch of chicken or vegetable casserole prepared expertly by Jenny Egan, and delicious desserts provided by Kim Clegg, many thanks to both of them and their helpers for providing such a delicious meal.

The formal meeting of the afternoon started at 2:00 pm.

The Pax Lodge staff and volunteers came into the meeting to introduce themselves.

The minutes of the previous meeting were agreed and signed.

A new Trustee had been nominated  – Karen Burgess, and she was formally elected.  Margaret Morris has decided not to stand again as a Trustee, thanks must be given to Margaret for many years dedicated service as a Trustee to the FOWWC.

The accounts were presented and approved. Two of the Pax Lodge volunteers showed a presentation prepared by Liz Tranter giving us a very interesting and informative view of all that has happened at Pax Lodge in the previous twelve months and  the number and variety of  events that have been held  as well as visitors who stay for one or two night while in transit or visiting London.

Special thanks this year to

* To Margaret Morris, Margot Pickering, Olive Mulley, Veda Gent and Margaret Campbell who have worked for the friends for so many years but have now stepped down as Trustees.
